Presentation and Publishing

Publishing creates a versioned snapshot of the current Codex. You can continue editing the working world and publish a later version when ready.

Publish a world, not just a story. Readers discover a setting with geography, cast, presentation, and a playable first scene.

Prepare the Codex

Before using the editor's Publish flow, verify the working world has:

• A world name.
• At least five entities.
• At least one Main Character.
• A starting scene and player choice for every Main Character.
• An image for every Character.
• At least one gallery image.

Prepare public presentation

For Public or Public Data visibility, also add:

• A cover image.
• A Discover banner image.
• A world map image.
• At least five distinct entities placed on the map.
• At least 200 chars of public landing-page content.
• At least 50 chars in Story Description. The app currently displays this check as "Backstory".
• At least one discovery category selection.

Publish a snapshot

1. Save current changes.
2. Select Publish in the editor header.
3. Resolve errors in the pre-publish checklist.
4. Enter a version name.
5. Choose Private, Public, or Public Data visibility.
6. Choose categories and an optional custom URL for a public build.
7. Review the credit and moderation notice.
8. Publish and copy the share link when processing completes.

Visibility

Private snapshots are not intended for public discovery. Public and Public Data builds use the public checklist and category metadata. Only Public Data builds can currently be cloned by other creators.

Moderation and credits

Public publishing currently costs 200 credits. The charge covers the AI moderation review and applies even when the review rejects a build because the review itself has already run.

Versioning

Use version names that communicate meaningful releases. Publishing does not replace the working Codex; it records a build readers can access while you prepare later improvements.

Growth after publishing

Public worlds can appear in Discover and collect plays, favorites, and comments. Public Data builds can also collect clones. Creator income is coming soon; cash withdrawals are not yet available.
